Chicago Bears History Chicago Bears Tickets

Chicago Bears tickets are an invitation to a surprise party. Surprise! The Bears aren’t backing down from anyone. Led by a steady rookie quarterback and an opportunistic defense, the Bears continue to shock the NFL with their tenacity. Head coach Lovie Smith insists his Baby Bears play with an attitude. All-Pro linebacker Brian Urlacher has obliged and has the Chicago defense conjuring up memories of the old Monsters of the Midway. Meanwhile, Kyle Orton, the Bears’ fourth-round pick, has been solid under center. A former Purdue Boilermaker, Orton orchestrates a conservative attack, setting up the playaction pass will a heavy dose of running back Thomas Jones. Is the combination of ball-control offense and stingy defense the Bears’ ticket back to the playoffs? Find out by picking up your Chicago Bears tickets today.

The storied tradition of the Chicago Bears is filled with Hall of Fame players and coaches. Ferocious linebackers like Dick Butkus, Mike Singletary and Brian Urlacher have all been a part of the Monsters of the Midway defense. Coaches like Mike Singletary and the “Papa Bear,” George Halas have all roamed the sidelines of legendary Soldier Field. Even with the historic legacies left behind by those Bears, one player sticks out among all – Walter Payton.

For 13 seasons, Payton made grabbing some Bears tickets, bundling up the family and taking in a game at Soldier Field the sweetest deal in Chicago. Know as Sweetness, Payton was the total package. With his long strides and trademark stutter-high step, he seemingly glided around, through and over would-be tacklers. And he never ever stopped. Surrounded by a swarm of tacklers one minute, Payton would be pop out of nowhere and be down the sidelines in a blink of an eye.

But Payton was much more than just a runner. He was the heart and soul of the Bears’ franchise in the 1980s. In 1986, he helped the Bears bring the Lombardi Trophy back to the Windy City by dismantling the New England Patriots 46-10 in Super Bowl XX. Unfortunately, Payton didn’t score a touchdown in that game, his only trip to the Super Bowl. The consummate pro, the Mississippi native never complained about the travesty. How do you not let the best running back of the era score a touchdown in a rout of a Super Bowl? Payton retired after the 1987 season as the NFL’s all-time leading rusher and No. 2 on the all-time touchdown list. He succumbed to bile duct cancer on Nov. 1, 1999.

Head coach Lovie Smith is determined to bring success back to the Chicago Bears. With a young, solid foundation built around a stout defense, he appears to be headed in the right direction. Led by Brian Urlacher, Tommie Harris and Mike Brown, the Monsters of the Midway are once again roaming Solider Field. Join in the fun and excitement by reserving your Chicago Bears tickets today.
