Green Bay Packers History
Don’t ever count out Brett Favre. Instead, grab some Green Bay Packers tickets, bundle up and head over to vaunted Lambeau Field to see if the grizzly veteran quarterback can help the Packers overcome a slow start to the 2005 NFL campaign and return to the playoffs. The Packer offense is starting to click, with young faces like wide out Robert Ferguson beginning to make an impact. Veterans like Donald Driver and Bubba Franks are still reliable targets, providing Favre with plenty of weapons to work his magic. The legendary Packer quarterback won’t give in. He still believes Green Bay is playoff-bound. Do you?
Historic Lambeau Field is practically spoiled by the number of classic games and Hall of Fame legends that have appeared on the “Frozen Tundra.” The impact the Packers have on the community of Green Bay is immeasurable. Packers season tickets are passed down among generations of Wisconsin families. The waiting list for Packers tickets extends for decades, but, just like their fearless leaders, Packer fans don’t give up. Do you think Vince Lombardi would have tossed in the towel?
“Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing,” was a favorite saying of Lombardi, the Hall of Fame coach that transformed the Packers into one of the greatest dynasties in NFL history. The quote was actually a John Wayne line in the movie “Trouble Along the Way.” Lombardi was hired in 1959 and his impact was felt immediately. One year after suffering through a 1-10-1 nightmare, the Packers, under the direction of Lombardi, finished 7-5, the club’s first winning season since 1947. It was only the beginning of an illustrious nine-year tenure. Lombardi turned players like Paul Horning and Bart Starr to into American heroes. He did it with passion, confidence and with absolute no fear. Since the day he stepped onto Lambeau Field, Lombardi was in charge. He never lost a home playoff game. (The Packers remained unbeaten at Lambeau in the playoffs until Michael Vick and the Atlanta Falcons won in 2003). Lombardi led the Packers to five NFL Championships and back-to-back victories in Super Bowls I and II. He posted a career coaching record of 105-35-6, including a 98-30-4 record in Green Bay.
Before calling it quits, Brett Favre is looking to bring the luster back to Lambeau. The veteran gunslinger continues his assault on the NFL record book, while trying to lead the Packers on one last Super Bowl run. With Favre’s Hall of Fame career winding down, Green Bay Packers tickets are more valuable than ever and even harder to come by. NFL football fans, no matter which team they root for, know to take advantage of getting their hands on Green Bay Packers tickets.
